Dissecting Historical Fiction

I always say that the best way to learn how to write in a specific genre, is to read many stories in that genre. 
​ Students have been working hard researching their chosen time periods for their personal historical fiction stories, b before they can create a good outline for their stories, the students worked in groups to read and dissect key historical fiction elements in a variety of short stories.
Now that everyone feels comfortable with how historical elements are used to create the setting and characters, they are now ready to create their outlines for their own Historical Fiction story.
