The class is busy organizing a group Action which will include the whole school, families, as well as local community members. In small groups, the students wrote to local newspapers, radio stations, and parents to inform them of the Walk-a-thon that will help bring awareness to children's rights. Walk for Water will take place May 9th from 1:30 to 3 pm at Morrison Park.
In English class the students are learning about writing narrative stories from the perspective of others. These stories will be used as part of their Expo presentation. In order to understand how to create a compelling perspective story, the class enjoyed watching the new movie, The Breadwinner. This was a novel most students had read in the past, and it sparked an interesting conversation about how a story can easily be changed into a script and express the same story in a creative manner.
