Writing from the heart

The Grade 2 students have begun to set up their writer's notebooks for the year. Inspired by books that we have read over the last couple of weeks, we decorated our hearts with images and words about things that are special to each of us. We know that authors gain inspiration from personal experiences, and good writers write about things that are meaningful and close to their hearts. Now that we have filled our hearts with  inspiration, we will always have ideas in our notebooks to help us with our writing.
