As we learned from reading our silly noun story, nouns are everywhere! We completed an activity where we sorted through a pile of noun words and came to the conclusion that we have two types of nouns; common nouns and proper nouns. We decided which nouns need to be capitalized. We were surprised that Mom and Dad are proper nouns and need a capital letter when we use it as the name of our parents.

We like to celebrate all our hard work during the week with Friday language game day. Today we enjoyed an intense game of Word UNO!
The students are really enjoying learning about Roald Dahl's background, and the inspiration behind his stories. Some of the most intriguing items we have read about are regarding his years living at the boarding school, sounds like a very scary place! I am happy to announce that even the parents are getting involved and sharing interesting articles about the author. Thank you Kirstine Postma (Anisha's mom)for the very interesting article you shared with us. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/books/2017/sep/13/charlie-and-the-chocolate-factory-hero-originally-black-roald-dahl
We are all feeling very inspired to read more Roald Dahl novels, and even write our own funny stories! |
